About Seaworld Express Ferry
Seaworld Express Ferry was founded in 1998 in Mokpo, where its head office sits in the international passenger terminal on the harbour front. The company grew from a single ship into the operator with the largest vessels on the Korean coast: in 2011 it introduced the 24,000-ton Seastar Cruise, then the first ferry of that size in the country, and in 2020 the Queen Jenuvia, built at Hyundai Mipo. Today five ships are in service, three of them on the Mokpo - Jeju line, plus the Santa Monica from Jindo and the Seaworld Marine 2.
The ships
The Queen Jenuvia is the flagship: 170 metres, 27,391 tons, 1,284 passengers, 24 knots, launched in March 2020. She carries nine cabin types from economy dormitories to suites and a four-person pet suite, an ocean-view restaurant, bakery café, convenience store, cinema, pub lounge, kids room and pet play room. The Queen Jenuvia 2 of 2021 matches her in length at 26,546 tons and 1,010 passengers, with a Paris Baguette café, restaurant, book café, karaoke, a self-service ramen room and a medical office. The Queen Mary is the smaller day ship, 143 metres and 14,919 tons for 756 passengers, with suites, ondol family cabins, seating classes and a pet garden. All three have pet cabins and open decks; the Queen Jenuvia and the Queen Mary also carry the pet gardens.
Mokpo - Jeju and the two piers
Mokpo - Jeju takes about 4 hours 30 minutes and is the one Jeju corridor with a proper rail link, the KTX from Seoul ending at Mokpo station. The day ships use the international passenger terminal at Haean-ro 148beon-gil 14; the Queen Jenuvia 2, the 01:00 night ship, sails from the Samhak pier terminal at Samhak-ro 158beon-gil 65, about a kilometre east. The pier is printed on the ticket. On Jeju the ships dock at the coastal passenger terminal at Imhang-ro 111 in Jeju City. From Jindo, the fast catamaran Santa Monica reaches Jeju via Chuja island in about 90 minutes; it is the most weather-sensitive ship in the fleet and cannot be booked through this site, only directly with the operator.
Check-in, vehicle and pet
Foot passengers collect their ticket at the counter with ID and reservation number, or use a mobile ticket; ticketing and boarding close 10 minutes before departure. Vehicles must be at the terminal an hour before a day sailing and 90 minutes before the night ship, with the driver's ID and the vehicle loading form issued at the terminal; cargo vehicles over one ton need a weight certificate. Every passenger passes an ID check and a photo of a document on a phone is not accepted. Pets travel in a carrier, large dogs with muzzle and harness, and are booked into the pet rooms of the chosen ship: pet suites, pet standard rooms and pet economy under 4 kg on the Queen Jenuvia 2, pet VIP and pet suite rooms on the Queen Mary.
Tickets
Tickets are sold online, at the terminal counters and through the booking window on the route page. Fares are per person by cabin class with vehicles priced by class on top; a fuel surcharge applies and holiday periods carry a premium. The current amounts are on the prices page, the departures in the timetable. Cabins on the night sailing and vehicle slots around Korean holidays sell out first.
